And hopefully that very large and drunk lady that had the poor lad pinned to the fence just to the right of the tables :p

When she keeled over in the bar it was like unloading time at Billingsgate, got me thinking, if a fat lady falls over in the bar of a Hungry Horse does she.........no, I wont even go there, Leave that to Slippy

I'm just about to eat Edders, you've put me right off, just have to have that brekkie on the ferry tomorrow now.

I try not to remember the fat lady but every now & then Edders brings it all back, LOL!!
Have a great time Nick, I've been working on some routes & places to visit but will wait until you come back in case you find something that we 'just can't miss' before I publish.
Sad news, we have a faller. Whatty has been in touch to say he can't come now, which is a big shame, but it does allow Nigel a comfy bed in his own room instead of having to sleep on the sofa in my 'chalet'!! ;)
Finally, I'm back to see the consultant tomorrow who will tell me if I need an operation to fix this broken shoulder or not. If I have then it's doubtful I will be able to make the trip however, I'm feeling quietly confident that all will be well and I shall be there front & centre. o_O
Will update as soon as I can but whatever the outcome I will do the routes as promised and post them up as soon as done.

ps, Barry is either deliberately trying to bump up the numbers of posts on this thread or has miss posted a couple of times maybe. ;)  :D

    Best of luck Smudge
Still a bit of an uphill gardener though, I had a mate that broke his collarbone the day before a holiday and swapped all levers to one side so he could ride single handed, probably would have done the trip like that if his lung hadn't collapsed the night before the grand departure

The term, "uphill gardener," may have different meanings in different parts of the country...

Good news (for me), no operation is required! Although I'm apparently healing slowly the bones are in a 'good position' and if I'm good and take it easy for another few weeks I should be OK for the trip. :) Sadly this means another month off work, shucks!!
In answer to the above questions from Titter and MD, the answer to both is YES. Nige can sleep without having to wear ear plugs under ear defenders under a balaclava and Paul, if you get some Euros you can buy things like food and petrol and also gain entry to the various museums we may visit along the way. ;)
I shall crack on with the planning with even more vigour. o_O Nice plan coming along for the Sunday encompassing a bit of a BR style ride out with an interesting stop along the way. More soon.

Whichever is the worse for Smudger :p

Good news on the shoulder though Smudge and you will strengthen it nicely with some exercise, suggest some reps with a handy weight, something about 0.5 litres should do nicely :)

What you going to buy my beer with if you dont have any Euros

Will it take BOTH my Euros to get you drunk? :)

Where do you buy Euros - ferry terminal?

I usually have some left over from previous trips then replenish via a hole in the wall when I am over there. Usually only use Euros for beer, snacks etc and the credit card for fuel and shopping. I seem to remember they offer prices in Sterling and Euro on the boat but Sterling was the better option.

If you want some notes before you go, the Post Office or Supermarkets are not too bad and you could team up with Scrappy Doo to minimise the charges. Just checked my cash drawer and looks like I will have to follow my own advice :(

Both your Euros will do if you buy a box of that Spanish drain cleaner that Smudge and his crew seemed to like; it is only 2 or 3 steps down from drinking from a brown bag in the park

    Bought me ferry tickets :)
How much is the room that I've got from Whatty likely to cost?

I think the 3 bed tin tents are around 80-85 euros each plus a little more for tourist tax
