    Hi Barry

As I can't go on now make Normandy trip I will come up to Peak District for this one, plan to camp and stay nights of 8th and 9th

    Booked camping with Royal Oak
Regarding meals I see that some have booked but was told that it should be done as a group when numbers are known so not sure about that one

That's good news Alan, I've added you to the list.
I haven't booked any meals yet. If the weather is good some of us will be knockin' up some first class cuisine in the tent field. If the weather is bad we will take our chance with a late booking in the pub, (or despatch a "volunteer" to the nearest take-away) .... we will not go hungry :).
As for breakfast, free full English can be provided by me if pre-booked with the presentation of a bus pass in your name, or an IAM certificate ;). Otherwise you will be offered an unlimited amount of Weetabix.
    seeya,

    Hi Barry
Sorry for the delay as I've just spent the last week in scotty land looking for the Loch Ness monster as someone told me he rides a Harley now and wears a pink crash helmet :p
I had a little ride up to the Royal Oak and area the day before I left and did send you some pics on face block messenger don't know if you received them cos I'm rubbish at that sort of thing
Anyway the only advice I can give is to arrive early as there are two areas for tent pitching but the top one is on a 45 degree angle to the bottom one so if Rod gets there early some poor soul on the top field could end up in his tent the next morning wouldn't that be a story for the beer table sat night
    See you soon

Hi chaps in terms of meals I spoke to pub and they don't really want to take individual booking for evening meal and breakfast as they would prefer to have us together on a table

This is fair enough and better for us that want to eat so we really need to decide and organise this in advance or we may miss out

  6. I believe when we booked we were given a pitch number. And don't be the one that wakes me up, if I ever get to sleep.

Dear Barry, are you sure you are updating this thread every day? Am I not important enough for an update? See Post #50. Once a Slacker.........always.....

OK - have slipped in that stop, it's bang in the middle of the route so I scheduled it in about a half way round (10). No idea if it's being approached or left from the direction envisaged o_O

Spot on Paul, that's good. :).

Now then lads, There will only be one "Green cap award" this time,.... for the longest trip, or the cleanest chain, or maybe the quickest erection !

    (Rod has no chance).:).

Nice one. Whichever direction you approach it from, its a good greasy spoon. Loose gravel carpark, be warned! Dont suppose you have a more detailed map of the route? The pic posted has got a blue squiggly giant python all over it. No idea where it goes!

If people are reasonably happy with my snake then I'll try and convert it to Gargoyle or Tom Thumb, or whatever the not Copilot peeps are into ;)

Bit late for tonight though :)

Ok - that was quite painful LOL. I have attached my original CoPilot (.trp) file and a Tom Tom equivalent (.itn). I had to mess around with the original waypoints to 'make' Tom Tom take the same route. If you load the files the route must be between 105 to 110 miles or else short-cuts and diversions have been added by your device. Google Maps thinks it's only 60 miles, so I'm trying not to get involved with that just now - anyone else - please feel free!

Edit : Damn, the forum is not accepting Route files again ... I've added a .txt suffix that will need removed once you've downloaded them ...
